1 Week ATV, Canoe and Kluane National Park

Price: $1629.00 per person, min. 2 persons, max. 8 persons

Day 1: ( D )

We will pick you up at the airport or the hotel and show you the main attractions of Whitehorse – the S.S. Klondike, the Log Skyscraper, the Old Log Church, the Mc Bride Museum and the historic Whitepass & Yukon Railroad Station. On the way to Mt. Lorne Aurora Bed & Breakfast, about 30 km south of town, we will stop at Miles Canyon. After arriving at the B & B you will get an introduction to the ATV and we will take off for a first tride.

Day 2: ( B, L, D )
After a hearty breakfast we will drive to the starting point of our ATV Trip in Mc Crae. Here you will get a thorough introduction to the 4x4 ATVs. The trip starts on an easy gravel road, through an old copper mine. Our first stop will be at Copper Lake. From here we will keep going on the Copper Haul Road for about 10 km before we stop at a lookout at the Mc Intyre Marsh. Now we will head up the mountain on Haeckl Hill Road. Shortly after we will turn into the Jackson Lake Trail which is winding through the bush, after we crossed a creek. Our lunch will be at the picturesque Jackson Lake. From here on we follow Fish Creek towards Fish Lake, where we will spend the night -get out your fishing rod, maybe we will have fish for dinner.
Day 3: ( B, L, D )

The first stretch is easy going until we reach another beautiful place on the shore of Fish Lake , where we have a short break to take some pictures. From here on, while we are climbing up Mt. Mc Intyre, we will come through alpine meadows with moss, lichen and flowers. Once we reach the summit ( 1597 m) a powerful visual experience is waiting for us. Going downhill on a trail again we will come through open terrain, which becomes a little more challenging. We will reach Coal Lake Road , which we follow for a while, before we turn into a narrow trail through low shrubs and over rocks. We will be surrounded by higher mountains (watch for sheep ) in all directions. Finally this trail will meet Alligator Lake Road ( actually a trail ). In this area we will set up our tents for night camp.

Day 4: ( B, L, D )

After a campfire breakfast we will follow Alligator Lake Road ( still only a trail ) for about 25 km, where we have to cross some creeks and manage some difficult terrain. Somewhere along the trail we will have our trapper's lunch. Now it will be easier again, on Two Horse Creek Road, until Annie Lake Trail on which we will pass by the Annie Lake Golf Course. A little further down, we will find the Old Whitepass Yukon Railroad Tracks. We will follow them for some time. Around here we will take another short break and with some luck, you can take home an over 100 year old railway nail. The last few km will go through forest back to the Mt. Lorne B & B, where we will end the day with a BBQ.

Day 5: ( B, L, D)

Instead of the ATV's we will take the canoe today, to explore a part of the famous Yukon River We will start with the canoes at the Rotary Park , right in center of Whitehorse . After a short time we will leave town behind us and are surrounded only by nature. We will paddle to the delta of the Takhini River , where we are being picked up. From here we can go to the Yukon Wildlife Preserve ( this trip is optional ). Later on you can enjoy a relaxing dip into the Takhini Hot Springs ( also optional ).

Day 6: ( B, D )
Today we will get up early, have a good breakfast and head out on the Alaska Highway towards Haines Junction. This is the base point for the Kluane Nationalpark. At the visitor center we will get lots of information about the geology, habitants and vegetation within the park. Afterwards we will take a hike on one of the numerous hiking trails. With a little luck we can observe some bears. If you want to see the park with its glaciers from above, you can undertake a  sightseeing flight (optional). Before we head back to the B & B, we will make a stop at the picturesque Kathleen Lake.
Day 7: ( B, L, D )

Today we are heading into direction Whitehorse again. Shortly after the downtown area we will leave the Alaska Hwy to get on to the Fish Lake Road . This path will become a gravel road, which brings us to the Haeckl Hill Road cutoff. From here on it goes only uphill. Just before the summit we have to park the SUV to climb up the last few hundred meters to the top on foot. We will walk around to look down in all directions. On the way home we can stop in town to give you the chance to go shopping for souvenirs.

Day 8: ( B ) After a farewell breakfast we will take you to the airport or downtown.
